While Istanbul’s art boom seems to be in full swing at the moment, many realize it won’t last forever. The economic crisis in the West and political instability in the East have caused the market to soften a bit, according to some gallerists. But for now, artists, gallerists and curators are making an effort to organically create a unique identity for Turkish art rather than a derivative of Western contemporaries.
