Hôtel de la Marine

Paris, France

Located in the centre of Paris, place de la Concorde, the Hôtel de la Marine was occupied by the Department of the Navy (Marine) for 226 years. When the Navy left the place in 2016, I was offered by the Center for National Monuments to witness its restoration project, being the only photographer allowed inside.
From secret  command rooms in the basement,  to reception halls built late in the ancien régime, I documented the ghost building and then the extensive work before its opening to the public for the first time in its long history.

This work was commissionned by the Center for National Monuments.
